4th of July in Colorado

I went to Colorado to visit Ted over the 4th of July. We had an amazing time tubing, hiking, going for walks in the neighborhood, eating out at some fantastic restaurants, relaxing on the water, and exploring the mountains. We made the most of every day with a different adventure. The next several posts are all about the trip.

I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon. It was a long day of bus riding and flying. I’d been really maxed out with work, staying at Adam’s, and just life in general, it seemed, and I was really looking forward to a vacation. Plus, I was sick of hearing about how every day was perfect weather, sunny, not a cloud in the sky, blah, blah, blah. Honestly, gag me.  Its done nothing but rain in Vermont and I was sorely in need of some vitamin D.

After dropping things off at Ted’s house, we headed to the Rio in Boulder for margaritas and dinner. Here we are on the Rio rooftop where we enjoyed dinner and drinks, fantastic weather, and a great view while we talked about the obnoxious people next to us and what we were going to do all week.

We took a walk through downtown Boulder after dinner. It was a stunning night. We walked along the river that runs through town, holding hands, and laughing…mostly at ourselves (’cause we’re really funny).
